HOBIE'S DESK

Hi Camas Ridge Families,

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a refreshing winter break filled with rest, connection, and time with loved ones. We are excited to welcome students back to school next week.
School will resume on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, which marks our 70th day of school this year.

Our Schoolwide Triangle Value focus for January is Respectful. As a school community, it is important that our values are not only communicated but also modeled and practiced daily. We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing this value at home by talking with your child about age-appropriate examples of what respect can look like—both at school and at home.

Please be sure to save the date for our Project Walk on January 22, 2026, from 5:30–6:45 p.m. More details are shared below, and we look forward to welcoming families into our school to celebrate student learning.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to a great start to the new year together.

Principal Hobie

CAMAS RIDGE COMMUNITY NEWS

Project Walk
On Thursday, January 22, from 5:30-6:45 pm, Camas Ridge is presenting our “Project Walk.” This event will feature displays of our studies, ranging from art installations, to written pieces, to videos, to other creative ways to celebrate and share our learning with our community.

Attending students and staff will be able to double as docents at their area, helping detail the process and information presented, though many displays will come with summations of the project. This night allows students to live the “O” in the EDCRO methodology of engaging in our learning (Explore, Design, Create, Refine and Own). Our event aims to show how integrating multiple academic disciplines- including the arts- leads to a rich and deep engagement with a topic for students and staff alike.

We sure hope you can carve out time from a busy schedule to join us as we share our learning with the Camas Ridge community.

Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) (3rd–5th Grade)
Battle practices are currently happening Wednesdays and Fridays at lunch. Approved school volunteers: please sign up to come support this really fun program. Volunteers support the teams with practice and provide general supervision with the OBOB leaders. https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/10C0A45A5AE2FA2FB6-60821109-camas/70605403

HELP CRCO GROW OUR GRADE BAND CONTACT LISTS!

This year the Camas Ridge Community Organization in an effort to help build stronger classroom communities & support our incredible teachers is creating grade level contact lists for our classroom liaisons. Liaisons are parent volunteers that work with the CRCO to coordinate things like classroom snacks, volunteers, and more! We are hoping that by being able to communicate directly to our classroom communities we can help forge stronger friendships, better meet the needs of our staff and make everyone feel more connected to Camas!

Keep an eye out for a printed grade band contact sheet in your December 19th Friday Folder!

Your information will be kept private unless you indicate that you are interested in being included in your grade band contact book.
