Camas Ridge News 10-25-21

Dear Camas Ridge Families,

We will have a fun Spirit Day on Friday. Students can have Wacky Hair or wear Wacky Hats. We will also have Open Mic during lunch. This is where students can perform the first part of a song, tell a joke, dance, etc. They can do it live in front of all of their friends. It is really casual. The jokes are hilarious. Sometimes they don’t make any sense, but when the student is laughing so hard, everyone joins in.

We will have a Family Directory. This is an opt in way so that families can contact each other. Again, this is totally an opt in Directory. Families can decide if they want to participate. Please fill out this google form by October 29th to enter your contact information/give permission to use information you put in previously. If you have any questions, please contact Ann Chang at

Picture Retake Day is November 15.

We are looking for two parents/guardians to be on our Site Council. Our first meeting will be on Zoom at 2:40 on November 16. We will meet once a month on typically the 3rd or 4th Tuesday each month. It will be tend to be on the fourth Tuesday, but November and December have Thanksgiving and Winter break during that time. Site Council sets the goals for the school. We will be working to develop the School Improvement Plan since we are a Title 1 school. Please let me know if you are interested.

This year, Camas Ridge Community School PTO will host our 2nd annual Read-A-Palooza (though you may not remember the first one because it launched March 2020- just as the Pandemic was unfolding)! We would really appreciate you supporting your student in reaching our school fundraising goal and their personal reading goals. Materials will come home on Friday, October 29th or early next week. Jog-A-Thon is being moved to the spring with the hopes that COVID-protocols may shift allowing it to happen closer to normal later in the school year.

This is our only big fundraiser this fall! The school goal is $7,500 (about $30/student will get us there!), which will go directly into the new Camas Ridge PTO – Camas CARES Fund. This is a new fund is made up of four program area.
