Teachers will provide teacher directed learning activities and choice boards via seesaw for these days. Student attendance is expected .
Class List Shifts and On Site Orientations
Grades K–1 to begin hybrid on-site orientation week of March 15
We are excited to welcome students back to school buildings in the coming weeks.
This will start with the youngest grades and add grade levels over time.
Students in the hybrid model will learn on-site two days a week in alternating groups.
Extensive health and safety measures will be in place, including face masks worn at all times by everyone at school, physical distancing, hand hygiene, extra cleaning and improved ventilation.
• Grades K–1 begin with on-site orientation the week of March 15. Grades 2-5 to follow
Hybrid Transition Timeline: Kinder and First Grades First
The youngest grades, kindergarten and first grade, will be the first to return to in-person learning in a hybrid model, followed by older grades.
Elementary schools will hold on-site orientation for kindergarten and first grade students during the week of March 15, before spring break, to provide a supportive start with small-group meetings and modeling for our littlest learners.
K–1 students will begin a full hybrid learning schedule after spring break, starting March 29. Grades 2-5 will have on-site orientations this week. More information on that schedule to come.
All hybrid students will begin a new 7:55 – 12:55 school day the week of April 5th.
Camas Online Model (Same School Online)
Students in the same-school online model will begin with their new placement on Monday, March 15.
Our Camas Online teachers are as follows:
Ms. Williams – teaching a K/1 blend
Mrs. Chipman – teaching a 2/3 blend
Ms. Karley – teaching a 4/5 blend
These three are teaming closely with the rest of the Camas team to align content and instruction and build a solid, all-online program for our families who chose online for the rest of the year. Watch for more information soon from these teachers about the next couple of weeks. They are also all still teaching in the current model while planning for the transition
Preliminary Plans for the New Camas Ridge Design. Feedback Survey Linked Below.
Planning is underway and design work is beginning for the new Camas Ridge Elementary School. The new school building will be designed for safety and security, efficiency and sustainability, and 21st century learning. In a first step, community members are invited to review the preliminary site plan and provide feedback online.
Families, neighbors and community members turned out virtually on March 2 for a presentation by Pivot Architecture, the project’s architects. The virtual community meeting was held by the architects and district to introduce the design team, review the completed community work, and examine the proposed location of the school building, parking lot and playfields.
The design team reviewed the proposed location of site elements, general building shape and project schedule, and invited feedback.
PTO Staff Appreciation Grab and Go Luncheon – Sign up to help.
To show our deep appreciation for our school staff, the Camas Ridge PTO is organizing a COVID-safe lunch. Pre-bagged lunches will consist of soup, salad, bread, and a cookie and will be distributed on March 12 while staff are on site readying Camas classrooms to welcome hybrid students back into the building.

Camas Ridge PTO Mask Drive. Like to sew? Know someone who does? You can help us make masks!
We are looking for donations of reusable cloth masks in both children’s & adult sizes. Masks must meet CDC guidelines & be at least two layers of tightly woven cotton.
To ensure that all of our masks meet 4J requirements we strongly encourage you to use the pattern provided. This pattern requires tightly woven cotton fabric (quilting cotton works great!), a sewing machine, scissors, thread, pins & soft elastic. If you need a copy of the pattern & instructions printed out for you email firstname.lastname@example.org & we will get it to you!
If you want to help, please signup below & we will contact you with instructions. When you sign up you will be assigned a size and asked to commit to the number of masks you can make so we can divide the work up accordingly.
If you would like to support the mask drive but are unable to sew, there are other ways to help!
See below for options, such as purchasing pre-made masks or supplies
Can’t sew but still want to support our Mask Drive? We are also accepting donations of new unused face masks! Adjustable, two layered masks are preferred. Email us at email@example.com to coordinate drop offs for donations.
