Grab-and-go meals available free for all youth at more sites, more hours this fall
Free grab-and-go meal distribution is back, with more locations and longer hours to ensure all 4J students and youth 18 and younger have convenient access to nutritious food.
Starting Monday, September 21, meals will be available for pickup at 10 school locations with extended hours, 10:45 a.m.–2 p.m. The longer serving times will provide students and families greater flexibility to pick up meals at a time that works with their online school schedules.
Grab-and-go meal bags include both breakfast and lunch, including hot options most days.
Basic school supplies are being provided by 4J during distance learning. Though these will not be on hand at the time of technology distribution, we believe they will be in shortly. This will include pencils, erasers, some art supplies, scissors and writing journals. We will be adding dry erase markers and a small white board. More to come at a later date
First Five Weeks – What to Expect
We will slowly build up the full schedule as students build their skills and stamina in using technology to connect with their teachers. Please see Week 5 for the full schedule.
- Please prioritize students joining us for the blue portion of the schedule each day.
- We suggest students stay on for the green portion of the schedule as well.
- During this time, teachers will be live with students guiding daily lessons
- Teachers will be explaining and practicing routines, and problem solving technology issues that may arise.
“Live” Learning: Families are asked to prioritize this time each day for students to participate in live instruction.
“Live” or “On-Demand” Learning: Students who work live with their teacher will be guided through these daily lessons. The lessons are also available on-demand for students to complete. On-demand lessons will be prepared and shared (not recorded) so that students can participate in them when ready
Camas Contact Book – There is still time to add your information – A message from our PTO
Dear Camas Ridge Families,
Our ability to connect outside of school is always important, but this year it’s even more vital. You can help by filling out the PTO’s Camas Ridge Contact Book form.
If you’ve done this before, just type your child/children’s name into the form then go to the last page of the form and check the box that we have permission to use the information from last year. Sorry, you’ll still have to go through all the pages and check yes on the last page to submit. We will collect responses until October 2nd. We plan to get a PDF of the book to all families by October 9th.
Although there is a community time question, we don’t know what community time might look like this year so this is a placeholder for the future. Additionally, Principal Kevin has these assignments and we can cross reference them during the school year as needed.
Lastly, filling out this form is voluntary, but we’d love to have your participation so that we can maintain the community bonds Camas Ridge is known for.
Thank you for your time,
Ann Chang and Lisa Miyake
