Good Afternoon Camas Community,
Instructional Technology for ALL – Possible delay due to unsafe air quality. Stay tuned…
September 9th and 10th
8:00-12:00 and 1:00-6:00 each day.
All students will be issued a district ipad for learning this year.
We will have three tables for device distribution, one outside each wing
Kindergarten and 1st grade will be outside the LOWER WING
Second and third grade will be outside the MIDDLE/MAIN WING
Fourth and Fifth Grade will be outside the UPPER WING.
Thank you for your patience during this time as we try to make this as smooth a process as possible.
We drafted balanced class lists in the spring and are holding them at this time as enrollment continues to fluctuate. We will release class lists on the afternoon of September 10th. You will receive a welcome email from your child’s teacher.
Though we have had multiple requests for class placement based on families creating learning pods outside of school, we are unable to accommodate those requests at this time.
Thank you for your patience while we take time the plan for the best year possible on our end.
Basic school supplies are being provided by 4J during distance learning. Though these will not be on hand at the time of technology distribution, we believe they will be in shortly. This will include pencils, erasers, some art supplies, scissors and writing journals. We will be adding dry erase markers and a small white board. More to come at a later date
First Five Weeks – What to Expect
Starting Slowly. We will slowly build up the full schedule as students and families build their skills and stamina in using technology to connect with their teachers. Please watch your email for a message from your child’s teacher on Thursday. This important message will include a simple form to complete to find a time to connect during that first week. Your child’s teacher will contact you during the week of September 14th to learn more about your student’s plan and how to support them during distance learning.
Camas Contact Book – A message from your PTO
Dear Camas Ridge Families,
Our ability to connect outside of school is always important, but this year it’s even more vital. You can help by filling out the PTO’s Camas Ridge Contact Book form.
If you’ve done this before, just type your child/children’s name into the form then go to the last page of the form and check the box that we have permission to use the information from last year. Sorry, you’ll still have to go through all the pages and check yes on the last page to submit. We will collect responses until October 2nd. We plan to get a PDF of the book to all families by October 9th.
There are a couple of changes to the form this year. First, we’re soliciting responses before classroom assignments are even given! Feel free to wait until things are more certain to respond, but we wanted to give people a chance to fill this out before we are inundated with more forms. If you want to take advantage of this option, Principal Kevin will give us classroom rosters once classes start so we can match teachers with students.
Secondly, although there is a community time question, we don’t know what community time might look like this year so this is a placeholder for the future. Additionally, Principal Kevin has these assignments and we can cross reference them during the school year as needed.
Lastly, filling out this form is voluntary, but we’d love to have your participation so that we can maintain the community bonds Camas Ridge is known for.
Thank you for your time,
Ann Chang and Lisa Miyake
