Parking Lot

Hi Camas Ridge Families,
I want to express an extreme concern that we are having in the parking lot here at Willard and that is around safety.
We have since last year asked families to first and foremost if they can - get here early park (on the adjacent neighborhood streets)and walk down to the lot to pick up students.
We have also asked that people picking up students adhere to our rules in the parking lot

• Keep the flow of traffic going, there is no parking in the throughway of the parking lot
• Stay in your vehicle and do not get out of your vehicle if you are in the through way of the parking lot.
• Be mindful of your speed as there are children and adults moving round the sidewalks and lot.
• Pause parking means just that you  drive through and if your kiddo is there you pause and they get in and buckle up and you drive away.

What ​we have seen too often is that ​parents, families etc, are using the through way as a parking space and we cannot do this as it causes a back up onto ​Lincoln, today this and a person trying to back out onto Lincoln St ​from ​our parking lot caused a near miss of ​both staff and students as well as much delay and confusion on Lincoln St.
​I understand that this is not ideal and I also need all ​of you who are here to pick up and drop off your students to help us at Camas Ridge by being responsible and adhering to the ​rules that we have.
We ​cannot have ​this unsafe environment continue to happen.
If we cannot get this under control we may be forced to shut the drive through at the parking lot for most drivers.
I am asking for ​all you to help us provide a safe and collected parking lot during both drop off and pick-up.
