We are looking forward to a calm, cozy full week of school next week.

Soup

Kids welcome!

PTO Potluck and PTO Meeting Tuesday, 6:00 – 8:00
Parents are cordially invited to socialize and enjoy a soup, salad, bread potluck dinner sponsored by the Camas Ridge PTO. The potluck will be followed by a fast paced, engaging PTO meeting.

Parents are invited to attend the potluck and/or the PTO meeting. Childcare is available at no cost You can sign up to bring something at http://www.perfectpotluck.com/meals.php?t=TPPB0414. The cafeteria is letting us use their tableware but bring your own cup. The PTO meeting will start at 6:30pm with a presentation on arts education/integration at Camas Ridge and a discussion about the upcoming Camas Ridge Art Block. Other topics include the Book Fair, OBOB, community building, Latino Family Night, the Winter Food Drive, fundraising update, recycling at Camas, and a Site Council update from Tom.

All Camas parents/grandparents/guardians are welcome at PTO meetings. Free childcare is available for students and their siblings in the gym. Hope to see you there!

Restaurant of the Month at Chipotle’s – Thursday All Day and Night
Families are encouraged to eat or purchase take out food from Chipotle’s on Thursday. Chipotle’s donates an amazing 50%!!! of all proceeds to Camas Ridge School plus their food is delicious.

Bring in the flyer sent home in your Friday folder, show it on your smartphone, or tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure the proceeds are credited towards the fundraiser.

Queridas familias de Camas Ridge.

Martes 18 de noviembre 6:00-8:00 pm, cena y reunion de la organización de padres y maestros.

Padres y madres de familia están invitados a la cena a la canasta de sopa, ensalada, y pan seguido por la reunion de la organizacion de padres y maestros.  Padres y madres de familia estan invitados y habra cuidado de niños gratis.  Utilizaremos los cubiertos de la cafeteria de la escuela, pero traiga vasos para tomar.

La reunion comenzara a las 6:30 con una presentación acerca de integrar educación de arte en Camas Ridge y una conversación acerca del bloque de arte que habra pronto.

Otros temas de conversación incluyen la feria de libros, la batalla de libros de Oregon (OBOB), como hacer crecer nuestra comunidad, noche para familias hispano-hablantes, recolección de comidas para en invierno, nuestra captación de fondos, reciclaje en la escuela, y Tom presentara acerca de las actividades del consejo de sitio.

Todas las familias de Camas Ridge están invitadas a nuestra reunion.  Habrá cuidado de niños gratis.  Esperamos verles ahí.

Restaurante del mes—Chipotle, Jueves todo el día

Familias que comen en el restaurante Chipotle el día jueves participaran en un recaudo de fondos para nuestra escuela.  Chipotle va a donar 50%!!! a nuestra escuela del dinero que nuestras familias gastan en el restaurante.  Además su comida es deliciosa.

Harvest Festival Friday, November 14
The Harvest Festival, one of my favorite events of the school year, is next Friday 6:30 – 8:00. If you are interested in helping, there are volunteer shifts still available.

Dear Camas Families

Parent Teacher Conferences
This week we will hold Parent/Teacher conferences on Tuesday evening 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday 8:00 – 4:00 p.m and Friday 8:00 – 12:00. Thursday and Friday are no school days. Parent/Teacher Conferences are an excellent time to discuss your child’s progress and to make agreements for supporting your child’s learning and social development.

Secure Room Drill – Wednesday, 12:45
As part of our overall Safety Plan we will hold a “Secure Room” drill on Wednesday. The secure room drill takes about 5min. and is designed for situations that compromise our students safety like a potentially dangerous intruder on school grounds or potentially dangerous situation happening in the Camas Ridge neighborhood. We make sure that students are calm and relaxed during the drill and that most Secure Room situations are because of something happening in the neighborhood.

Fundraiser at Laughing Planet

Restaurant of the Month – Tuesday, Oct. 28
Families are encouraged to dine at Laughing Planet next to P.C. Market of Choice next Tuesday. Proceeds go to Camas Ridge School.

Halloween Friday, Oct. 31 Halloween Serpentine Parade 8:15 – 8:45ish
Students may come to school in costume or change when they get to school. Costumes may not be violent, gory, scary or include real or imaginary weapons. If it might scare a kinder then it isn’t allowed. Face paints that smear onto books are not allowed. Masks are allowed but only during the parade.

Students may see Tom if they have questions regarding their costume. We will return to business as usual immediately following the Serpentine at 8:45. Parents who prefer that their child not participate in the Serpentine Parade may bring their children to school at 8:45 or request that their child goes to the library rather than participate in the parade

Queridas familias de Camas Ridge,

Halloween, Viernes 31 Oct.  Entrada de Halloween  8:15-8:45
Los estudiantes pueden venir a la escuela con disfraz de Halloween o ponerse uno al llegar a la escuela.  Los disfraces no pueden ser violentos, de horror, asustantes, o incluir armas reales o imaginarias.  Si el disfraz podría asustar a un estudiante en el Kinder, no se lo pongan.  Mascaras son permitidas solamente durante la entrada.

Se puede hablar con Tom si tienen alguna pregunta acerca de un disfraz.  Las clases resumirán a las 8:45.  Si padres prefieren que sus hijos/hijas no participen en la entrada pueden traerles a la escuela a las 8:45 o pedir que su hijo/hija vaya a la biblioteca durante la entrada.

Bolos.  Sabado 8 Noviembre 3-6pm Southtowne Lanes
Bolos (incluyendo para niños pequeños), renta de zapatos, y mesas de billar.  Familias pueden traer su comida o comprar en Southtowne.  Costo: $4 un boleto, $15 boleta para la familia.
