Important news from Camas Ridge
Dear Camas Ridge Families and Staff,
I have some important news to share. After three years as principal of Camas Ridge, I will be moving to a different school next school year.
I have been asked by district leadership to step in as an assistant principal at Sheldon High School. This decision is bittersweet; I am sad to be leaving such a wonderful community of students, staff, parents and volunteers. But I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. It has been my honor to serve the Camas Ridge community over the past few years.
There is a plan in place to make sure Camas Ridge’s school leadership is in good hands. Kevin Gordon will replace me as Camas Ridge’s principal next school year. “Principal Kevin,” as the kids call him, is a veteran principal and teacher and a strong instructional leader. He will be a great fit for Camas Ridge. Many of you may know of him, as he is the current principal at our neighboring Adams Elementary School, and he previously taught at Parker Elementary for a decade until it closed. He is passionate about educating the whole child and is intimately familiar with project based learning. He is well loved by staff and students. His background, skills and expertise will help Camas Ridge continue moving forward without missing a beat.
Camas Ridge is fortunate to have Mr. Gordon stepping in when I depart, and he is lucky to be joining such an amazing and supportive school community. He is looking forward to establishing strong relationships with Camas Ridge staff, families and community, while continuing our work to support all students to succeed in school and in life.
